I have made many original characters throughout the years. My first OC was in the Sonic universe, a purple echidna who existed solely to be Knuckles' love interest whom Sonic was also in love with. I don't even remember her name, but she existed solely in my head to imagine stories with before I went to sleep.
Since then, I've had many characters; fan characters, roleplay characters, entirely original characters, etc. Some inspired by dreams, some by anime, others by real people.
Listed are some of the characters I've been playing with lately (drawing, imagining, writing, brainstorming)
The working title for my current set of characters/story is Daegu Blues. I've been wanting to change it, considering that while the characters do live in Daegu, Daegu isn't really central to the events of the story, and the story could happen anywhere. I've been trying to think of alternative titles such as "everyone needs therapy", but I haven't had much success finding a suitable title that rolls off the tongue.
Daegu Blues takes place in Daegu, South Korea, in the aftermath of an inexplicable wave of death that decimated 1/10th of the earth's population. Here we meet Pham Anh Khai, lead actor at the Daegu Blues Opera House. He lives comfortably with Song Jaemin, his partner of over 10 years. Jaemin is also an actor at the opera house, even if he's typically a supporting role. Their on-stage chemistry is unparalleled.
One night at the opera house, after the audience and most staff members shuffled out for the night, Khai and Jaemin were getting ready to leave when they ran into a lone teenager who snuck off from the foster parents who brought her there. She claimed to be Khai's daughter from a fling he had twelve years ago. After meeting with the foster parents, social workers, etc. (i can't be fucked to go into all that), Charlotte Khai Mills came to live with Khai and Jaemin. Turns out, Charlotte is a wraith, meaning she will live indefinitely and need a LOT of food to stave off her hunger.
While Khai has to shuffle through financial issues and literally learn how to be a dad (to a wraith, no less), awful things seem to be happening to people around him, to the point that people are starting to suspect a second calamity is on its way. This is all leading up to Charlotte's abduction by the shady Wraith Society. To help her escape, Khai joins forces with his best friend Emily and a wraith named Songjo to break into their headquarters. Will they succeed? Will Khai be able to feed his kid enough? Is there another calamity on the way? idfk it's my webpage i do what i want
Wraiths are a species adjacent to humans, kind of as an open secret. From birth, they age normally until around the age of 25, then they stop aging completely. However, they are not necessarily immortal. Wraiths cannot die due to grave injury or stress; instead, their body ages to heal themselves, and they do not gain that youth back. Eventually they get old enough to the point that their organs constantly fail, regenerate, and age the body, caught in an endless loop until they finally crumble to dust, leaving nothing behind but a skeleton and a giant centipede. The wraith's centipede will then scuttle off to find an expectant mother's womb to crawl into. The chosen mother will give birth to a wraith child, and the cycle continues.
